(Xinhua) – Former Lotte Giants pitcher Seo Jun-won, who has been on trial for sex crimes, has admitted all of his charges in court.
At the hearing of the Busan District Court Criminal Division 5 (Chief Judge Jang Jong-seok) on Thursday, Seo Jun-won’s defense team said that he admitted all of the charges against him, including violating the Act on the Sexual Protection of Children and Adolescents (producing and distributing sexual exploitation materials).
Seo is accused of taking and sending body photos to an underage victim he met online in August last year. He was released from Lotte in March after it was later revealed that he had undergone a substantive review of the warrant.
Until his first hearing on March 31, Seo admitted to all of the acts listed in the indictment, but claimed that he was unaware that the victim was a minor at the time of the crime.
However, at today’s hearing, the defense changed its stance when the court asked Seo Jun-won’s defense team for evidence opinions again. “I admit the prosecution facts that I previously denied in the trial, and I agree with all the evidence,” Seo said.
The court will send a court investigator 메이저사이트 to the victim to conduct a sentencing investigation. The next hearing will be held on the 19th of next month.
Seo is accused of lying and demanding that the victim send nude photos to an open smartphone chat room set up by the victim, who was underage, last year under the pretense of giving her pocket money.
Despite knowing that the victim was a minor, he sent her sexually explicit messages on 60 occasions and asked her to take photos of her body and other parts on seven occasions, which he then sent to create sexual exploitation.
Born in 2000, Seo was a top prospect who graduated from Gyeongnam High School in 2019 and joined the local baseball team Lotte as the first pick with a contract worth 350 million won.
