Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot, 28, is attracting interest from Manchester United.
“Juventus are set to offer Rabiot a one-year contract after an impressive season,” the British publication The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday (Aug. 12), adding, “United are keen on signing the midfielder on a free transfer.”
“Rabiot is a free agent this summer. Juventus want to offer him a new one-year contract.”
“Juventus have met with Rabiot’s mother in a bid to convince him to stay,” Italian outlet Calcio Mercato said.
The Frenchman joined Juventus in the 2019-20 season after spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse. He played a key role this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 48 games.
Rabiot has the ability to play as a defensive or central midfielder, but can also drop into the penalty area and disrupt opponents when the situation calls for it. His excellent ball control, strong physicality, and passing sense make him a reliable player in the center of the park.
Man United are very interested in Rabiot. 메이저놀이터“United tried to sign Rabiot last summer when they offered Juventus a £14m transfer fee, but the deal fell through after the player’s representatives demanded a £250,000-a-week wage,” according to the Daily Mail.
“United signed Casemiro last year but are looking to strengthen their midfield. Rabiot is one of the players they are considering.”
United are in need of midfield reinforcements. Scott McTominay and Fred have been underperforming. McTominay has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. It’s also unclear whether Marcel Zabiczer, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich (Germany), will be a permanent signing. Naturally, the club is eyeing Rabiot, who could be available on a free transfer.
The key, however, is negotiation. According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, “Rabiot’s mother Veronique is a notorious agent. His agent wants an astronomical salary. It is doubtful that the club will accept it.”
