The top 3 teams from the Preliminary Round will advance to the Super Round, and the top 2 teams will advance to the final round by summing up their opponents’ records (2 matches) and the Super Round scores (3 matches) from the Preliminary Round.

The Korean national team has not been able to win the championship for 15 years since winning the championship in 2008. 2017, when Kang Baek-ho (KT) played an active part in reaching the finals, was the latest. Last year, they lost to Japan in the 3rd and 4th place matches and failed to win medals.
