] Lucas Moura, 30, who is leaving Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League, has asked Harry Kane, 29, to stay.
According to Football England on Tuesday, Moura wants Kane to stay and lift trophies with Spurs.
“It’s important for Tottenham to keep Kane,” Moura said. “The club has changed in the last 10 years, and Kane was the key,” he said. “I hope he stays and wins the title next season. I’ll be rooting for him.”
“Kane is special. He’s an amazing player and an amazing teammate. He’s an example to everyone, one of the best players I’ve ever played 스포츠토토 with and one of England’s best players. He is a very important player for Tottenham and for the national team. It was a pleasure (to play with Kane). I hope he stays at Tottenham.”
Moura, who joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017-18, spent six seasons with Kane.
The pair enjoyed a successful 2018-19 season together, finishing as UEFA Champions League runners-up.
Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the upcoming summer transfer window. His contract with Spurs is set to expire in a year’s time, and English Premier League rivals Manchester United are strongly pursuing him.
Kane has been vocal about his love for Spurs throughout his career, but he’s also been vocal about his desire to win trophies. He turned the soccer world on its head last season when he asked for a transfer, saying “I love Tottenham, but I want to win trophies”.
With his contract approaching expiry, speculation is growing that Kane will leave Tottenham after the club finished eighth in the Premier League this season and missed out on qualifying for next season’s European competition. With Champions League and Europa League qualification out of the question, and the Europa League Conference League a realistic goal, Kane said: “Ultimately, I love playing soccer, no matter what competition it is,” he said, “and you can’t ignore any competition you enter. The Conference League is one of them. To get to the Conference League and win it is worth it. When you’re at a club that hasn’t lifted a trophy in 15 years, winning it can silence that,” he said, but Spurs will also miss out on the Europa League.
British media have reported that Manchester United are willing to spend £100 million to sign Kane. On the other hand, chairman Daniel Levy has said that Kane is not available to Manchester United.
Moura, whose contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season, chose to part ways with the club instead of signing a contract extension. He scored in the league final against Leeds United to make his farewell game a spectacular one.
