After completing his first season with Al-Nasr, Cristiano Ronaldo, 38, has predicted that more players will head to Saudi Arabia.
“I thought if I went to Saudi Arabia, I would open a box,” Ronaldo said at a brand event, according to the U.K.’s The Sun on Aug. 8, adding that he has been a pioneer in leading superstars to the kingdom.
Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United last November. He signed for Al-Nasr a month later for £175 million a year and arrived in Saudi Arabia after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After playing half a season, Ronaldo scored 14 goals and provided two assists in 16 Saudi Professional League (SPL) games, averaging one attacking point per game.
After Ronaldo, contact was made with players 토토사이트 whose contracts were expiring or about to expire. As a result, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante are now wearing the shirt at the Etihad. Both players are set to earn £86 million.
“In two or three years, the SPL will be one of the most important leagues in the world,” Ronaldo said, “Benzema has left and more players will leave. I’m 1000% sure,” he said, predicting that many of them will come with big offers from the SPL.
Benzema and Kante are not the only players already attracting interest from the SPL. Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have left FC Barcelona, while Riyad Mahrez has been linked with a move to Al-Hilal.
In addition, Son Heung-min is also rumored to move to the SPL in the summer of 2024. As Ronaldo said, we are slowly becoming the center of the world.
