Infielder Yang Seok-hwan (32, Dusan) thanked the fans with a heart gesture after his game-winning hit.
Yang Seok-hwan started at first base, batting fourth, in the home game against Hanwha in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on July 7. He went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, leading his team to a 6-3 victory.
Especially in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he was down 1-3, he came up as a pinch hitter after Yang’s two-run double tied the game. He hit a two-run single off Hanwha’s fifth pitcher, Kang Jae-min, to complete the comeback.
After the game-winning hit, Yang pumped his fist in the air and celebrated. After the game, he smiled and said, “I haven’t had good results in the scoring column lately, so when I hit in the seventh inning today, I couldn’t help but do a little ceremony.”
Yang has played in 49 games this season and is batting 2-for-9 with 54 hits in 182 at-bats, the second-highest batting average on the team after Yang Ji (3-for-2). However, he has only eight home runs compared to his batting average.
